This one was meant to be the mother of all false-flag attacks, one big enough and crazy enough to lead to thermonuclear war between NATO and Russia.

Step one: Either buy off the pilot of a Russian MiG-31 fighter jet with $3 million, or provide him with a false flight plan, in effect hijacking the plane. The MiG-31 is a supersonic fighter jet, equipped with a hypersonic Kinzhal missile, which is capable of carrying either a nuclear weapon or regular bombs.

Step two: Fly the MiG-31 directly at Constanta, Romania, the largest NATO base in all Europe.

Step three: NATO shoots down the Russian MiG-31, and the world blames Russia for launching an “unprovoked” possibly nuclear attack on a NATO military base.

Step four: All-out war ensues between NATO and Russia.

Who, you might ask, would be so incredibly crazy—and desperate—as to come up with such a scheme?

The British, that’s who. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on Nov. 11 that they had “thwarted an operation by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate and its U.K. supervisors to hijack a Russian MiG-31 supersonic fighter jet.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov elaborated during a Nov. 11 press conference: “London’s penchant for provoking situations is, of course, notorious. Take the recent case where the Russian FSB exposed a plot to trick a Russian pilot, flying a fighter jet armed with a Kinzhal missile, into flying to a base in Constanta, Romania with a fake order. The obvious intent was for the plane to be shot down, creating a pretext to accuse Russia of attacking NATO”.

Nor does the Russian government mince words when it criticizes the Trump administration for following the British lead down into Hell. By amassing military force in the Caribbean and threatening to attack Venezuela, the U.S. is engaging in “unacceptable actions … under the pretext of combatting drug trafficking as it destroys boats allegedly carrying narcotics, without trial, investigation, or any evidence whatsoever,” Foreign Minister Lavrov stated. “Law-abiding nations do not do that. This kind of behavior is more typical of those who consider themselves above the law.… It will not lead to anything good. It will not enhance Washington’s reputation in the eyes of the international community.”

And yet at the very same time, the Russian government understands that there is another United States that is open to working with Russia and China to foster joint economic development, and to bring the nations of the Global South onboard as well. It is the United States of John Quincy Adams, Abraham Lincoln, FDR and LaRouche, the U.S. that found its voice at the Aug. 15 Anchorage, Alaska summit meeting between Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, where joint projects such as the Bering Strait tunnel proposal were reportedly on the table.

And although the Alaska process has lost momentum over the last 90 days, largely because of British intervention and sabotage, Russian Presidential aide Yury Ushakov reiterated on Nov. 12 that contacts with the U.S. have not been broken, and that both parties are working with an understanding of what was accomplished at the Anchorage meeting. The contacts continue, albeit at a lower level, he said. Lavrov also reiterated that Putin is prepared to meet Trump in Budapest once the necessary progress has been made, and he again urged the U.S. to agree with Russia on a one-year extension of the START treaty, to give the two sides time to negotiate a full nuclear arms agreement.

As the crisis comes to a head, the question has been posed: When will the real United States take the country back?

A committed delegation of young Americans did just that, joining with colleagues from dozens of countries around the world at the Nov. 8-9 Schiller Institute conference held in Paris, France. As Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche summarized the strategic issues that were deliberated on in Paris, in her weekly webcast:

“I think the world needs to go in a different direction—or at least parts of the world need to go in a different direction. The Coincidence of Opposites as a New Paradigm of international relations is on the table; but unfortunately the Western countries are opposing cooperation with the Global Majority, and in this way preventing the emergence of a new system. So, the whole idea is that the young people of the world—the young people of the Global South, but also the young people of Europe and the United States—must take a much stronger role in leadership; because it’s their future. I think the so-called ‘elites’ of the Western world who are now in a warmongering mode like we have not seen since the 1930s, have no right to destroy the future of the youth.”

The Paris conference was an exciting step forward in the growth of that international youth movement. To get an insider’s sense, make sure you take the time to watch the conference videos.
